This paper's main motivation is to examine the seasonal pattern of overall mortality of children whose ages are below five years in Egypt. We used the data of vital statistics for births and deaths, which have been collected by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) from January 2002 to December 2010 in Egypt. Seasonal effects on under–five and infant mortality were measured by several different statistical models such as the classic multiple regression model (CMR), Poisson regression model (PR), generalized additive models (GAM) and neural network models (NNM). During the study period, all children below 5 years in the study population and at the aggregate level all cases of deaths of whom have been recorded ....

Abstract

Phenotypic relationships between different traits of Grey mullet (Liza parsia) were estimated from a sample of 100 individuals having size range 10-15 cm in length and 17-62 g in weight. Fillet percentage and dress-out percentage were also calculated. Data were recorded and analyzed for total weight (TW), trunk weight (TrW) standard length (L), body depth (BD), dress-out weight (DW) and fillet weight (FW). The mean condition factor (K) of the samples was computed as 1.1±0.13 suggesting that the specimens were in good condition having normal shape. The average fillet yield and dress-out yield were calculated as 60.73(±4.67) % and 64.70(±4.64)% respectively. There was no significant variation (p>0.05) in condition factor, fillet % and dress-out % between male and female. All the true traits were strongly and positively correlated (r>0.8) with one another. ....

A variety of catalysts can be used for the Fischer–Tropsch process, but the most common are the transition metals cobalt, iron, and ruthenium. Nickel can also be used, but tends to favor methane formation. FT catalysts are sensitive to the presence of sulfur compounds in the syngas and can be poisoned by them. The sensitivity of the catalyst to sulfur is higher for Co-based catalysts than for their iron counterparts, which contributes to higher catalyst replacement costs for Co. For this reason, Co catalysts are preferred for FT synthesis with natural gas derived syngas, where the syngas has a higher H2:CO ratio and is relatively lower in sulfur content. ....
